Hill Street Cleaners was founded in 1991 by Eldon Bartelheimer. The first location was established on Hill Street in Monroe, which is where the business still resides. Hill Street Cleaners' goal has always been to help people look good, feel good, and to better the community.

​Eldon has been very involved with his community over the years, through service on the Monroe Chamber of Commerce Board for over 15 years, including been President of the organization twice. He has also been on the board of the Monroe Gospel Women's Mission and on the Snohomish County Fair Board. Eldon celebrated 30 years of being in business as Hill Street Cleaners in August of 2021. ​​​​​
